Home Performance Advisor Certification

A 3-day, classroom-based, in-depth technical training course on whole of house performance to underpin your provision of independent advice to home owners, landlords, property managers and tenants. COVID UPDATE - COURSES HELD IN VENUES WHERE A VACCINE PASS IS REQUIRED.

The Home Performance Advisor Certification course provides you with the technical knowledge and skills to offer households detailed advice that is independent of products and sales.   Once certified, you will be able to assess a home, understand the whānau's needs, and support their journey towards a warmer, drier, healthier and more efficient home.

This is a three-day classroom based course. The assessments are two assignments and one exam.  To pass, trainees must attend all days, submit course work to the deadline, and pass each component to the required certification mark (this will be a overall mark).  Course certification takes approximately six weeks from the date of the course.

Upon passing this course, certification lasts for 3 years and home performance advisors must meet on-going professional development requirements to maintain their certification. This includes attendance at related conference, seminars and webinars.  We expect that certified home performance advisors will remain active in the field carrying out regular home assessments.   See the ongoing professional development page for more information.
