Get started on understanding the main components of a healthy home and how addressing energy use can support a healthy home. Classroom-based 1-day course

Description

This course introduces participants and outlines the key principles to the following topics:

  • Home performance in New Zealand: damp and cold, links to health, Government policy
  • Four critical elements for a healthy home: Reducing heating loss, adequate heat, moisture control, and ventilation; and describes some key principles of and common solutions to each
  • The New Zealand Healthy Housing Standards for rental properties
  • Energy for a healthy home: household energy use, efficiency and conservation
  • Smart energy use at home: lighting, appliances, hot water
  • Other services and where else to get help.

Completion of an online exam is required post course, there is one week to complete this.  Passing the course requires an exam score of 85% and above.
